The '2015 Week 1 starting QBs' quiz

Veteran quarterback Teddy Bridgewater isn’t retiring for the first time, but it does feel like it might be for the final time.

After signing with the Detroit Lions this offseason, head coach Dan Campbell announced that the 33 year old was stepping away from the team and being placed on the  reserve/retired list.

The Lions responded quickly, adding journeyman Josh Dobbs to their quarterback room featuring Jared Goff entrenched as QB1 and rookie Luke Altmyer. It’s been a tough few days in the Motor City, with the Lions losing both starting center Cade Mays and running back Isiah Pacheco to injuries in training camp already.

Bridgewater has had an interesting career for a player who has played as few actual games as “Teddy Two Gloves.” After a promising start to his professional career with the Minnesota Vikings, his trajectory changed after a devastating knee injury in the 2016 preseason. He wouldn’t start another game for Minnesota, and didn’t get a shot as a full-time starter again until signing with the Carolina Panthers for the 2020 campaign. He went just 4-11 before going 7-7 in 14 starts in 2021 for the Denver Broncos.

Bridgewater then spent a season in Miami before his first Lions stint in 2023, after which he retired for the first time to coach Miami Northwestern High School. He came out of retirement in December 2024, returning to the Lions and completing a pass in the postseason.

He appeared in four games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year before returning to Detroit in March. While another late-season return can’t be ruled out, Bridgewater’s professional career may officially be over.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Bridgwater’s best year came in 2015, when he led the Vikings to an 11-5 record with 3,231 passing yards, 14 touchdown passes to go with another 192 yards and three TDs on the ground en route to his lone Pro Bowl. With that being said, can you name the Week 1 starting QBs for each NFL team in the 2015 season?

Good luck!
