The '2021 1K-yard NFL receivers' quiz

After playing a single season on the other side of the United States, veteran wide receiver Deebo Samuel is returning to the San Francisco 49ers on a one-year, $7 million contract. 

Samuel spent the first six seasons of his career in the Bay Area, with his best season coming in 2021 when he reached 1,000 receiving yards for the only time in his career (1,405) while adding another 365 yards on the ground and 14 total touchdowns. 

He’s not been able to replicate that production since, and was traded to the Washington Commanders last offseason. Despite only playing seven games with quarterback Jayden Daniels, Samuel actually saw an uptick in production in his lone campaign as a Commander while playing in 16 games for the first time since 2021. 

With the 49ers lacking wide receiver depth behind veteran newcomer Mike Evans, Samuel’s familiarity with coach Kyle Shanahan and quarterback Brock Purdy could be a valuable addition to an offense that is tasked with facing some formidable defenses in the NFC West.
