The 2025 Buccaneers’ Machine Is In Motion: Mayfield, Otton, Egbuka And More

The Buccaneers offense looks to be unstoppable and has a clear path in 2025. After leading the team to a fourth consecutive NFC South title, Todd Bowles’ team is stronger than ever at the start of this season. The arrival of Emeka Egbuka, a first-round pick, as well as Jalen McMillan, who exploded in the final stretch of 2024, provides new weapons for quarterback Baker Mayfield. All in the pursuit of bringing the Lombardi back to Tampa Bay.

Mayfield, more precise than ever

Baker Mayfield had the most productive season of his NFL career in 2024.
He completed 407 of 570 passes (71.4%) for 4,500 yards, 41 touchdowns and a passer rating of 106.8. Numbers that place him among the league’s elite.

This year, surrounded by players like Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Jalen McMillan, Emeka Egbuka, Sterling Shepard, Cade Otton and Tez Johnson, Mayfield has all the heavy artillery to take the final step towards the Super Bowl.

Cade Otton, a key piece in the scheme

Cade Otton is much more than Mayfield’s “safety tight end.”

After excelling in 2024 with 36 receptions, 344 yards, and three touchdowns in the first half of the season, Otton showed he can run every variety of routes in the passing game. He also excels at blocking for the run game.

In an offense that’s so difficult to decipher, the tight end provides solutions in both the run and pass game.
