The Indianapolis Colts' offense is not only one of the best in the NFL this season, but it is also playing at a level that puts them in the conversation as one of the best in NFL history. In Week 7, they improved to 6-1 on the year with a big road win vs. the Los Angeles Chargers. They scored all 38 of their points through three quarters and looked truly unstoppable.
Their complete body of work on offense now ranks them as the single most efficient Colts offense ever and the most efficient offense in NFL history. The team directly behind them at the moment is the 2007 New England Patriots, the legendary 16-0 team that ultimately lost in the Super Bowl to the New York Giants.

The Colts have the highest scoring offense in the NFL through seven weeks with 233 total points and 33.1 points per game. And they are doing it with a remarkably balanced attack. They have the fourth-best rushing attack in the NFL with 911 yards and the fifth-best passing attack with 1,751 yards.
According to Anthony Dabbundo of The Ringer, the 2025 Colts are now the most efficient offense in NFL history. Obviously, it's just a sample size with only seven games being played so far this season, but it puts into perspective just how strong this unit is playing. Daniel Jones has run Shane Steichen’s offense to perfection and looks more confident than we saw at the end of his time with the Giants. Jonathan Taylor is a serious candidate to win the NFL’s MVP and/or Offensive Player of the Year award.
The Colts have been the biggest surprise in the NFL this season, but they can’t let their early-season success get to their heads. They must attack each week ahead with the same intensity they have shown through the first seven. Use this information as motivation to keep pushing forward. Being the most efficient offense after seven games is interesting, but being the most efficient offense after 17 games would be legendary.
