Happy 35th birthday to four-time Pro Bowl quarterback and the Raiders all-time passing yards and touchdown leader, Derek Carr!
Carr was taken in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Fresno State, and seemed like he was finally the franchise quarterback the Raiders had been searching for for a long time. After a rough 3-13 season as a rookie, Carr and the Raiders improved to seven wins in 2015 before he took the league by storm in 2016. The Raiders went 13-3 with Carr under center, and he there for 3,937 yards and 29 touchdowns before a devastating knee injury ended his season and ruined the Raiders first playoff appearance since reaching Super Bowl XXXVII.
Carr got the Raiders to the postseason just once more in 2021 – despite the drama of firing Jon Gruden midseason – where they lost in the Wild Card to the Bengals. He was sent home and eventually cut by Las Vegas in 2023 and he signed with New Orleans, where he played just two seasons before unexpectedly retiring in May 2025. While there have been rumors of Carr making a comeback, he remains out of the league.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Carr owns three of the NFL’s 75 all-time 4,000-passing-yard seasons. With that being said, can you name every NFL quarterback to reach that milestone?
Good luck!
