The '4,500-yard NFL passers' quiz

It doesn’t seem too long ago that the Miami Dolphins we’re #tankingforTua. But after six tumultuous seasons in south Florida, the Dolphins are going to release Tua Tagovailoa when the new league year begins on Wednesday.

The fifth-overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft at one point seemed to be the quarterback of the future for the Dolphins, increasing his passing yards and touchdowns in each of his first four campaigns. In 2023, Tua led the NFL with 4,624 passing yards en route to his lone Pro Bowl selection. But he lost his lone postseason start as a Dolphin, and he famously has an extensive injury history. Despite staying mostly healthy for the 2025 NFL season, Tua was benched after 14 games with Miami out of contention amid his worst season as the Dolphins full-time starter.

Tagovailoa was two years into a four-year, $212.4 million contract, and the move will cost Miami an NFL-record $99.2M in dead-cap money over the next two seasons.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Tagovailoa is one of 35 quarterbacks in NFL history to throw for at least 4,500 yards in a single season. How many of those quarterbacks can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
