The 'Active 3-TD pass NFL games' quiz

The Minnesota Vikings haven’t played a preseason game yet, but as they prepare for their first contest against another team in 2026, they’ve named their regular season starting quarterback. 

Adam Schefter reported that Minnesota is making the expected decision  to name free agent acquisition Kyler Murray as their QB1 over J.J. McCarthy and Carson Wentz.

The former first-overall NFL Draft pick was released by the Arizona Cardinals this offseason after playing just five games in 2025 and he landed in Minnesota on a veteran minimum contract. Murray racked up 20,460 passing yards and 121 touchdowns to 60 interceptions as well as 3,193 yards and 32 TDs on the ground in his seven seasons in the desert. While he showed flashes of the Heisman Trophy-winning talent he displayed at Oklahoma, he simply didn’t win enough games as a Cardinal. 

But an opportunity to play with Justin Jefferson and head coach Kevin O’Connell could help rejuvenate Murray’s career. For a Vikings team that went 9-8 even with a tough situation under center last season, a capable quarterback should be able to bring Minnesota back to the playoffs.
