The Browns Are Allegedly Trying To Trade For Dak Prescott

Apparently, the Dallas Cowboys are discussing a Dak Prescott trade with the Cleveland Browns

Prescott is entering the first year of his $240 million extension with the Cowboys. He's coming off a season where he suffered a partial tendon avulsion. It's unclear when his hamstring will be back to 100 percent. That being said, his injury situation doesn't seem to be scaring off other NFL teams.

According to Cleveland sportscaster Bruce Drennan, the Browns are negotiating a trade that would make Prescott their starting quarterback.

"Get ready for this one," Drennan said on his show. "I got a pretty darn good source within the Browns organization. I heard since our last show that part of the reason Myles Garrett was so willing to sign this extension is because the Browns are negotiating as we speak with the Dallas Cowboys for a trade for Dak Prescott."

Drennan claims Browns cornerback Greg Newsome and draft picks would be heading back to the Cowboys if this deal gets finalized.

Newsome, 24, was selected by the Browns in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 54 games over the past four seasons, racking up 155 total tackles, 34 pass break-ups and three interceptions.

Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett was recently asked who the starting quarterback will be for his team. He made it clear that he likes Cleveland's plan, but he wasn't willing to share any information.

"After conversations, I do have an idea," Garrett said. "I like it enough to be here smiling in front of you, because I think we have a good chance of that happening and making the most out of it. "

The Browns currently have Kenny Pickett and Deshaun Watson on their depth chart. We highly doubt Garrett had a smile on his face because his team acquired Pickett in a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.

If the Browns trade for Prescott, that would make Cleveland a much more interesting team heading into the 2025 season.
