The Arizona Cardinals have suddenly emerged as a potential suitor for legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers had an efficient 2025 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, completing 66.5% of his passes for 3,327 yards with 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Most fans assumed he'd return to the Steel City on a one-year deal, especially since the franchise wanted a decision from him before the start of the NFL Draft.
And yet, all seven rounds of the draft finished without Rodgers making an announcement. His indecisiveness led to the Steelers placing the UFA tender on him. It was then reported by Johnny Venerable of PHNX Sports that Rodgers may consider signing with the Cardinals.
“According to one insider, it’s possible that Aaron Rodgers is waiting to resign with Pittsburgh…in favor of playing for the Cardinals?” Venerable wrote on social media.
Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur technically has a connection with Rodgers. His brother, Matt, coached Rodgers towards the end of his run with the Green Bay Packers. It's also worth noting that Arizona's offensive coordinator, Nathaniel Hackett, is close friends with the four-time MVP.
Although there's no guarantee the Cardinals will pursue Rodgers this offseason, a member of their offense is trying to recruit him online.
Cardinals wide receiver Kendrick Bourne tweeted this message at Rodgers on Tuesday: "Come on we waiting on you."

While it would be fun to see Rodgers finish out his career in the best division in the NFC, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk said a deal isn't likely at this time for the Cardinals.
"If Rodgers is hoping to finish his career with a playoff run, it won’t be easy to do it with the Cardinals. It won’t be impossible. But it won’t be easy," Florio said, via Touchdown Wire. "There’s been no indication that the Cardinals are eyeing Rodgers or that Rodgers is eyeing the Cardinals."
For now, the Cardinals seem content with Carson Beck and Jacoby Brissett at the top of their depth chart.
