The Colts got a solid favor from another team that puts them into a great position early in the season that no one saw coming

Happy victory Monday to the Indianapolis Colts and their fan base. The team put together a dominant outing in Week 5 and secured a much-needed win over the Las Vegas Raiders. They are now 4-1 on the year and appear to be one of the best teams in the AFC, and possibly even the NFL. If their win wasn't enough reason to celebrate, Sunday Night Football gave them another reason. With the final undefeated team in the NFL, the Buffalo Bills losing to the New England Patriots, the Colts are now tied for the best record in the AFC and the NFL.

Best records in the AFC through 5 weeks

  • Colts (4-1
  • Bills (4-1)
  • Steelers (3-1)
  • Jaguars (3-1)

The Patriots' upset win over the Bills has the Colts tied for the best record in the NFL

The Colts are now one of two teams in the AFC with a 4-1 record, tied with the Bills. Overall, throughout the league, there are six 4-1 teams, and if you had told Colts fans ahead of the season that their team would be one of them, they probably would have called you a liar. However, that is where things stand after the first five weeks, and it doesn't feel like a fluke; this Colts team looks like the real deal.

The Colts have scored the second-most points in the NFL this season, with 163, only trailing the Detroit Lions, who have scored 174. The Colts' offense has been one of the best in the league, with them having the fourth-most passing yards and seventh-most rushing yards on the year. Shane Steichen and his staff have helped Daniel Jones have quite the turnaround so far this year, and star RB Jonathan Taylor is arguably the frontrunner for the offensive player of the year award.

The Colts will hope to continue their recent success in Week 6 as they are set to host the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Tennessee Titans, where they had an all-time type of collapse in the second half. The Colts have done what great teams are supposed to do against lesser rosters: they've won. But they haven't been just squeaking out wins against bad teams. Three of their four wins this year have been by 21 or more points. So let's see if they can handle business against an uninspiring 2-3 Cardinals team in Week 6 as they look to improve to 5-1 on the year.
