The Colts got great news to begin minicamp that multiple teams across the NFL are probably jealous of

Up to this point, all offseason programming for NFL teams has been voluntary. Which means players could choose not to participate without any repercussions from the team.

That changed this week as most teams began their mandatory minicamp, the Indianapolis Colts being one. And head coach Shane Steichen had some good news to share during his time with the media.

Colts have perfect attendance to begin mandatory minicamp

Steichen was asked if any player didn't show up for their mandatory mini camp, which began this week, and he replied, "No, everyone is here." Every player currently signed to their 90-man roster is present for minicamp, and they even had a group of tryout players on hand on Tuesday.

In years past, there have been distractions as some players hold out for multiple different reasons. The most common being players actively looking for a new contract from the team or potentially a trade elsewhere. No such storylines currently exist with the Colts, and that has to feel great to begin this next stage of the offseason without that type of distraction looming over the locker room.

Other teams across the league aren't as lucky, as they navigate ongoing situations that could involve players not showing up to minicamp. Those players do face fines for not showing up, with the first day being $17,462, the second day being $34,925, and the third day being $52,381 according to Spotrac. Due to those fines, some players will show up to minicamp but refuse to participate, which many call a hold in. Luckily for the Colts, they don't have that type of situation brewing either. The only players reportedly not participating are those dealing with some type of injury; therefore, it's not worth risking their overall health when it's still only June.
