The Colts got the win in Week 10 but their offense is regressing and they need to fix it before it's too late

A look at the Colts' offensive woes

The first part of the regression to talk about is obviously the turnovers. The team had six turnovers against the Steelers and had another two in Week 10 vs. the Falcons. And that's after the team only had four through the first eight weeks. So they've now had double that amount in just the last two weeks.

This is simply not sustainable for the offense. Daniel Jones has to be better at taking care of the ball and not digging the team into a hole. The Colts have shown they are great at playing from ahead on both sides of the ball. But the Steelers' Week 9 loss showed that playing from behind is a struggle for the offense.

I also think Shane Steichen and the offensive coaching staff didn't do their QB any favors today. Against a talented Falcons front, there didn't seem to be anywhere near enough hot read options on Jones' drop-backs. I would personally put more of the struggles today on Steichen and the offensive staff than on Jones. Especially when you take into account the Falcons being one of if not the most blitz happy defenses in the NFL this year.

In the run game Taylor was taken entirely out of the game last week vs. the Steelers. That was not the case today against the Falcons. He finished the day with 286 total yards and three rushing touchdowns, and continues to look like the front-runner for the Offensive Player of the Year award and looks like a legit MVP candidate. It's a good thing Taylor packed his backpack for the trip to Germany because he had to carry the team’s offense on his back today.
