Happy 50th birthday to two-time AP NFL Comeback Player of the Year and 11-year veteran quarterback, Chad Pennington!
Pennington was selected with the 18th-overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft by the New York Jets after he played his college ball at Marshall with a wide receiver by the name of Randy Moss. He didn’t start a game for the Jets until 2002, when he threw for 22 touchdowns, 3,120 yards and led the NFL in completion percentage for the first of two times he’d do so.Â
After playing in just three games in 2005, Pennington returned to win his first of two Comeback Player of the Year awards – the second coming in 2008 in his first season with the Miami Dolphins when he once again led the NFL in completion percentage at 67.4.Â
Pennington retired after the 2010 season in which he started just once, finishing his career with 17,823 yards, 102 touchdowns and 64 interceptions.Â
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the NFL QBs to lead the league in completion percentage for each season of the Super Bowl Era (since 1966) can you name in eight minutes?
Good luck!
