The Denver Broncos Must Pursue Brian Daboll

As perhaps the scariest job in the entire NFL empire, coaching is not for the faint of heart.

It’s an occupation filled with epic victories and heart-shattering defeats, playoffs, losing seasons, and injured players. The ingredients they gather either crumble or harden when thrown in the fire.

Without a doubt, the Giants know this feeling all too well. However, did their failure open the door for the Broncos’ success?

Denver’s Offense Needs a Spark

As much good as exists in Mile High, there are blatant struggles still plaguing this team. At this point, it’s more than offensive inconsistency; it’s a slow-growing wart that needed to be handled long ago. There’s a glaring problem that can’t be ignored at the coaching level, the Broncos need change. That is, if they want to keep their Super Bowl hopes alive and their reputation.

While there is a lot of good, especially with what Sean Payton has done in such a short time, he needs help. Joe Lombardi, your ship has sailed. While many fans are grateful for his work, Drew Brees arguably gave him a Super Bowl victory. Sean Payton needs to look elsewhere, perhaps to the very man who unleashed Josh Allen.

Brian Daboll is An Elite Coordinator, Just Not a Head Coach

Yes, Daboll has faced many critiques this season. Rightfully so, as he has made some questionable choices as a head coach. However, some people are simply just better when they aren’t in charge. (Did someone mention Josh McDaniels?). Some other notable names, like Steve Spagnuolo or Chip Kelly, immediately come to mind.

Regardless of their head coaching mayhem, these coaches demonstrated clear success and ability as coordinators. Daboll is no different; in fact, he can easily turn this train wreck offense of Denver around.

He took a struggling Bills offense that was 28th overall in total offense and turned it into one of the league’s deadliest weapons, per ESPN. Some credit Josh Allen as the only reason this happened. If that’s so, imagine what Daboll can do with Nix.

Not to mention, Daboll is highly regarded by Nick Saban, as Saban has already urged Penn State to hire him. While this may be a potential route for Daboll, his NFL career should be far from over.

Regardless of where Brian Daboll chooses to go, the Broncos need to make a move on this offensive powerhouse before it’s too late. Their postseason may very well depend on it.
