The Eagles' X-factor in the NFC Championship Game

If there was an MVP award for the NFC Championship Game, Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick would be the clear favorite to win thanks to his dominant performance.

Reddick finished the day with three tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

The 2022 NFC Championship game was yet another herculean effort from Reddick, who is having a career year. Reddick is tied for second in the league in sacks (16) and tied for first in forced fumbles with five, per ESPN

The Eagles defense, led by Reddick, swarmed the 49ers all game long. They were the deciding factor in this game, holding a top-10 offense to just 164 total yards

The 49ers left this game with more questions than answers as they head to the offseason in earnest.

Since signing with the Eagles, the Temple alum has been worth every penny. The Eagles were already a feared pass rush around the league. But with Reddick, the unit is giving offensive coordinators nightmares. The Eagles led the league in sacks with 70. They also made history by becoming the first defense to have four players record 10 sacks or more in a season, Iggles.com reported

The defensive line has been on a heater recently, and it carried over into this game.

While this was a team win for the Eagles, Reddick was playing for pride. A notable Defensive Player of the Year snub, Reddick led his team past the 49ers and defensive end Joey Bosa, who was a Defensive Player of the Year finalist over Reddick.

Now, the Eagles advance to their third Super Bowl since 2000. They lost in 2004 and won in 2017. Both games were against the New England Patriots.

Reddick made his first Pro Bowl this year.
