The Emmys Makes Decision On Tom Brady vs. Greg Olsen

Two NFL legends are going head to head, but their battle won't take place on the football field.

Tom Brady and Greg Olsen are currently teammates for FOX's NFL coverage, but one is set to receive an honor that the other was not awarded, potentially setting up an awkward future.

Upon Brady's arrival at the broadcast booth last season, Olsen took the No. 2 spot with FOX Sports. It meant he would no longer be calling games with Kevin Burkhardt, but that he would also be on lower tier games from earlier in the week.

Olsen was nominated for his work as the No. 1 analyst on FOX and even won two Emmy awards.

This year, he's nominated for a third as he's up for Outstanding Personality/Event Analyst. It's Olsen's fourth consecutive year, showing that he's become a star in the world of sports broadcasting and media.

Brady's position as an NFL minority owner handcuffs him to a certain extend as a broadcaster. He's not allowed to say certain things, comment on certain players or teams in different ways and more. Some fans felt that Brady's first season as a broadcaster was filled with growing pains.

He ended the year calling the Super Bowl with Burkhardt for FOX, while Olsen finished his work for the network in the regular season. It's an interesting development for FOX, who has tried to make Brady the next big star in sports broadcasting.

Brady will have time to work on his craft ahead of the 2025 season, and he's likely looking to surprise fans with improvement. Brady was one of the best quarterbacks of all time due to his uncanny ability to adjust and react to what the defense is doing.

He'll have to react to his critics in the broadcast booth now, where he was a rookie last season. With a year and a Super Bowl under his belt, we'll see what Brady has in store for the second year of his analysis job with FOX.

As for Olsen, he's nominated with some of the best names in all of sports media.

Troy Aikman, Peyton Manning, Bill Raftery, and John Smoltz all round out the category after years of great work in their sports of choice.
