Happy 49th birthday to three-time Pro Bowler and Minnesota Vikings single-season passing yard and touchdown record holder, Daunte Culpepper!
Culpepper was taken 11th-overall in the 1999 NFL Draft out of Central Florida, where he’s second all-time in program history with 9,341 yards and 72 touchdowns. After spending time behind Jeff George and Randall Cunningham in the Vikings QB room as a rookie, he took the reins as the full-time starter in 2000. With some help from Randy Moss and Cris Carter, Culpepper led NFL in passing TD’s with 33 and got the Vikings to an 11-5 record and NFC North title before getting blown out by the Giants in the NFC Championship.
That would be the most single-season wins he’d get in Minnesota, but his most productive individual season came in 2004 when he set Vikings single-season records both passing yards (4,717) and touchdowns (39).
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the quarterbacks to throw the most touchdowns in a season for each NFL franchise can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
