The greatest weakness for every NFL team heading into the 2024 draft

Arizona's defense had issues at all three levels, but the defensive line was particularly leaky after losing J.J. Watt and Zach Allen in the offseason. The Cardinals not only allowed the most rushing yards in football but were also near the bottom of the league, sacking the quarterback.

The Falcons addressed quarterback in a big way by signing Kirk Cousins, but now must turn back to the defense. Grady Jarrett remains the team's anchor in the defensive line, though they've lost significant talent in the offseason. Atlanta will likely select a pass rusher early after focusing on the offense in recent drafts.

The emergence of first-round rookie Zay Flowers helped transform the Ravens offense in 2023. However, they're set to lose Odell Beckham Jr. in free agency, so it wouldn't be a surprise if Baltimore goes back to the well to continue the offensive momentum.

While Buffalo was one of the elite teams in the league in terms of rushing the quarterback, the need comes into focus this offseason with Von Miller's health struggles and Leonard Floyd's free agency. The Bills should prioritize that area again this offseason.

The focus was on first-overall pick Bryce Young's mediocre rookie season, but the reality is that he didn't have much support. Carolina's receivers were a weakness after trading DJ Moore, and their only impact move this offseason has been Diontae Johnson's addition. Addressing that area could be difficult after the Panthers traded so much draft capital to acquire the first pick last year.

Chicago knows what's ahead, trading former first rounder Justin Fields to Pittsburgh and more than likely set to select Caleb Williams with the first overall pick. The move resets the clock for the Bears, and they've already used the cost savings to revamp the rest of the roster.

Cincinnati has already addressed safety this offseason with Geno Smith and Vonn Bell, though they could use more depth after last year's struggles. The defensive stats regressed significantly, including a league-worst 7.6 yards allowed per pass attempt. 

Cleveland addressed linebacker with offseason with some stopgaps in Jordan Hicks and Devin Bush, but more long-term answers at the position could be a priority. Keeping the position fresh could help star pass rushers Myles Garrett and Za'Darius Smith continue to wreak havoc.

The Cowboys cap limitations have created several needs, with the offensive line at the forefront. The team needs to find at least two new starters as they try to keep Dak Prescott clean in the pocket.

The Broncos moved on from Russell Wilson this offseason. Sean Payton could spark a bold move in the draft to find his man, as the team has been suspiciously quiet in free agency.

While Aidan Hutchinson has turned into a star for Detroit's defense, he can't do it all alone. The pass rush continued to be a weakness for the Lions in 2023, and new addition Marcus Davenport hasn't shown enough lately that the team should rely on him.

Green Bay's backend struggled for much of 2023, and lost contributors Darnell Savage and Jonathan Owens in free agency. It could be time for a revamp in the draft.

Houston's defense made progress in 2023, but their secondary still struggled. The team has a pair of keepers in Derek Stingley Jr. and Jalen Pitre, but could use help at other spots.

The linebacking corps was the strength of the Colt's defense not too long ago, but it's become a weakness quickly. Opposing teams ran the ball against Indy early and often in 2023, exposing the linebackers.

The Jags signed veteran Ronald Darby, but could still use more depth at corner as they continue to rebuild the secondary. It's a strong draft to address that area.

It was clear from Week 1 that the Chiefs were undermanned at wideout. The emergence of rookie Rashee Rice and signing of Marquise Brown help, but Patrick Mahomes needs more reliable weapons, especially with Travis Kelce showing signs of decline.

It's unclear if Aidan O'Connell or Gardner Minshew are the answer at quarterback, but the Raiders need to shore up the offensive line in any case. Run blocking was also exposed as a weakness in 2023.

Cap issues have caused the Chargers to move forward without Mike Williams or Keenan Allen. While they used a first-round pick on wideout Quentin Johnston last season, the need at the position remains.

The Rams got the most out of their roster in 2023, but they have a huge void to fill on the defensive line following Aaron Donald's retirement. LA desperately needs help for young Kobie Turner.

Miami suffered multiple huge losses this offseason, led by Christian Wilkins. Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips are highly capable, but the team has a huge void to fill up front.

Minnesota has made needs in the draft. Quarterback is the most high profile after replacing Kirk Cousins with Sam Darnold, but edge rusher could be even more dire after losing Danielle Hunter and Marcus Davenport. Minnesota struggled to rush the quarterback for much of 2023, and could use more youth in that area.

Poor quarterback play was the top area that led to Bill Belichick's departure, with Mac Jones' shocking decline after a strong rookie season. It would be a shock if the Patriots don't select their long-term answer with the No. 3 overall pick in the draft.

The Saints face a brutal cap situation, so they must make the most of their draft choices. They had a terrible time getting to the quarterback in 2023, as Cam Jordan showed signs of decline and the young edge rushers didn't deliver. The addition of the enigmatic Chase Young probably isn't enough.

The Giants' offensive line was plagued by injuries last season, but they still need to address the area. The team's quarterbacks suffered the highest sack rate in the league, and the interior was dominated.

With the return of Aaron Rodgers in 2024, the Jets are likely to go all-in once again. Keeping him healthy should be the top priority, and the offensive line needs more depth despite adding Tyron Smith, John Simpson, and Morgan Moses. The team has some promising young players but could use improvement across the entire offensive line.

Pass rusher depth has been a priority in Philly for the last several years, and they have a major need heading into the draft after losing Fletcher Cox and Haason Reddick. The team hopes improvements from young players Nolan Smith, Jalen Carter, and Jordan Davis help, but the area is likely to be a high priority.

Pittsburgh hope they fixed quarterback by adding Justin Fields and Russell Wilson, but wideout has become a need once again after trading Diontae Johnson. Van Jefferson and Quez Watkins give the team depth, but George Pickens needs more help to draw attention away from him.

The 49ers have one of the top defensive lines in football, led by Nick Bosa and Javon Hargrave, but they could have a depth problem after losing Arik Armstead, Chase Young, Randy Gregory, Javon Kinlaw, and Clelin Ferrell. Adding more talent to the line will be high on the priority list.

It became clear the Seahawks needed to get younger on the defensive line last season, particularly on the interior. Seattle struggled to stop the run, and lost Mario Edwards.

The secondary has long been a strength in Tampa, but they face a challenge after losing Carlton Davis. The team has added depth in free agency but still need to address the position.

Tennessee's offseason turnover along the offensive line didn't do them any favors, and it's obvious they need to address multiple spots. It wouldn't be a shock to see the Titans spend a first-round pick on the line in back-to-back years after drafting Peter Skoronski last year.

Washington tried to will Sam Howell into becoming their long-term quarterback, but their best efforts didn't work out in 2023. The No. 2 overall pick in the draft gives the team some great options.
