The Green Bay Packers and NFL teams alike finally got their hands on the 2026 schedule last night. There’s a lot to be excited about even at a first glance. First and foremost the first 4 games for the squad is ranked 3rd easiest in the NFL. Thus giving stars Micah Parsons and Tucker Kraft some breathing room to hit the field by Week 5 against the Bears.
Here’s the full schedule:
The Green Bay Packers will enjoy the full compliment of 9 home games at Lambeau Field in 2026, as they avoided being sent overseas for an international game. Also, according to Packers.com, for the first time since the league realigned into four-team divisions in 2002, the Packers will not play back to back divisional games at any point during the season.
Green Bay’s division matchups are actually pretty evenly spread across the entire season, avoiding the late year clustering we’ve become accustomed to seeing. In past years, the team often faced long stretches dominated by NFC North opponents, including seasons with 3 or even 4 straight division games.
The Packers 2026 BYE week comes with a pretty unusual setup that effectively creates an extended midseason break without technically functioning like a traditional BYE.
Green Bay plays on a Wednesday night before entering its scheduled Week 11 BYE, meaning the team will have nearly two full weeks between games once the calendar turns. Instead of the standard Sunday-to-Sunday recovery window teams normally receive after a BYE, the Packers will benefit from extra rest both before and after the break because of the midweek scheduling quirk. That kind of spacing is rare in the NFL and could become a massive advantage late in the season, especially for player recovery, self-scouting, and preparing for the difficult stretch run that follows.
Ultimately, it’s just great that the BYE comes near mid season, a far cry from the garbage Week 5 BYE we saw in 2025.
Outside of Divisional matchups, the Packers will be facing teams in the NFC South and AFC East this season. While there’s a few interesting twists in 2026 that I’m looking forward to seeing, including Romeo Doubs lining up in a Patriots uniform, there are a couple of match ups that are jumping off the page at me, and are getting a big fat marker circle around ’em on the calendar.
A game I am eager to see features the man pictured above Jeff Hafley, as the Dolphins will make their way to the Frozen Tundra in Week 15.
Miami has typically performed poorly in the cold. However, I think with former Packers QB Malik Willis taking snaps, the cold weather advantage may not be as much of a factor. This game has all the hallmarks of a classic against a team that normally wouldn’t hit the radar in seasons past.
The week before Hafley comes back to town, Josh Allen and company will make their way to Green Bay. I am itching to see a shootout between 2 absolute beast gunslinger quarterbacks in Jordan Love and Josh Allen. Outside of injury playing a role, this should be an absolute barn burner.
Which leads to the last, certainly not least, and definitely the most anticipated.
If it aint broke, don’t fix it. Year after year Packer Nation looks forward to taking down the inferior club to the south. In 2026 however, retribution is on the table.
With Micah Parsons likely to hit the field by the time these 2 teams meet in Week 5, the Packers should be at full strength as they look to reclaim their dominance against the Bears. Regular season games aside from 2025, that playoff defeat has a nasty bitter taste in Packers fans mouths, and 2026 should serve as a very satisfying palate cleanser.
Let’s face it, the Bears look like they are going to be good for the next few years after finding their new QB in Caleb Williams. While I am certainly happy to watch the Packers beat up on a stinky Chicago team, I gotta admit that it’s pretty great to have the rivalry get heated like it is now.
Not to mention, we will get to see Round 2 of this divisional fight at Lambeau Field on Christmas Day. I cannot wait to soak in the holiday cheer and chase my egg nog with Bears tears……
Lastly, as we all know, each team does their best to put out a viral video with their new schedule on it. This year the Packers dropped a stop motion animation style video featuring the likes of Jordan Love, Tucker Kraft, Josh Jacobs, Micah Parsons, LeRoy Butler, and my buddy Tom Grossi. Check out the video below, and let’s get ready for another season of Packers football!
