The Indianapolis Colts will look to add two more players tonight in the NFL Draft. With the 14th pick in Round 1 last night they selected Tyler Warren a tight end from Penn State. In the 2nd round the Colts will pick at number 45 and in Round 3, pick at number 80. With one of these picks I see the front office selecting a defensive tackle or linebacker. I would also not be surprised if they went offensive line. Lets see who are the newest Colts.
This pick for the Colts is a great one for this team. Looking to add more pressure on opposing teams’ quarterbacks with this pick. This rugged edge rusher uses his size and length to shed blocks and has a toughness about him you want every defensive lineman to have. His power was how he had 6.5 sacks through four games in the College Football Playoff. He will add much-needed depth to a defensive line that is thin already. A great pick for the Colts.
The Colts added a twitchy cornerback in round three of the NFL Draft. Walley is a highly experienced corner with great size, speed, and ball production. He has great footwork at the beginning of routes but tends to use his hands later in than route other than trusting his technique. He has a great way of reading the eyes of the quarterback giving him the ability to pounce on short yardage throws. The one disadvantage he does have is his lack of length making him more of a nickel option than an outside corner.
The Colts added some great day two picks by drafting two defensive playmakers. These two picks add much-needed depth and competition needed to make a successful roster. Stay tuned to Total Apex Media.
