The insane price tag of Derrick Henry's renowned maintenance program

Derrick Henry’s offseason workout videos are the stuff of legend.

Seemingly every summer, a new clip makes the rounds on social media of the 30-year-old Baltimore Ravens running back in a gym doing something the average man could only dream of.

Henry has a reputation for being notoriously disciplined in taking care of his body, but how much exactly does it cost the All-Pro RB every year to get into arguably the best shape in the NFL?

In a recent interview with The Athletic's Dan Pompei, Henry’s financial adviser Pete Kotos revealed the former Heisman Trophy winner spends about $240,000 annually on his healthy and body maintenance.

Henry is also big on maintenance and recovery. His daily routine consists of cold plunging, massage therapy, oxygen therapy and an infrared sauna. He also gets an IV three times a week that contains vitamin E and other nutrients.

In addition to his body maintenance, Henry is also meticulous with his diet.

During the NFL season, he eats only two meals each day — the first between 4 and 5 p.m. (this switches to 1 p.m. during the offseason) and the second around 8 p.m. He hires a personal chef to make all of his meals, which are void of gluten, dairy and artificial sweeteners, and Henry doesn’t eat anything fried.

“I probably eat three chicken breasts, some rice and broccoli,” Henry said. “Then I have some gluten-free pancakes, scrambled eggs, diced potatoes, home fries and some steak.”

Henry’s two-a-day workouts include a combination of 10 sprints running up a 100-yard hill, plus weight training where he’s been known to curl 80-pound dumbbells and do split squats with 120-pound dumbbells.
