The Jacksonville Jaguars can breathe a bit easier heading into their Sunday afternoon matchup with the Detroit Lions.

They will have a key contributor to help with their running attack, which will be much needed considering the Lions are surrendering 154.6 rushing yards per game to opposing backs.

Travis Etienne will suit up for the Jaguars on Sunday, meaning that he only had to miss one game due to a foot injury.

When he had sustained this injury against the Baltimore Ravens, there was much speculation that he would be out for a significant amount of time, which appears to not be the case, thankfully.

Jacksonville’s Rushing Attack

Without Etienne in their matchup with the Ravens, the Jaguars struggled to get anything going on the ground.

They were able to manage just 39 yards of rushing last week, a clear sign that Etienne is the back that they need, and rely on for significant yards and overall touches weekly as well.

Etienne is averaging 5.5 yards per carry, the eighth-best mark in the league.

He has also contributed 22 catches on the year, which allows Jacksonville to use him in a myriad of ways throughout a typical game.

The Lions have allowed three different players to rush for over 100 yards this season.

Etienne will surely look to be the fourth player to achieve that mark.

With the combination of a healthy rushing attack and an increase in quarterback Trevor Lawrence‘s production, this Sunday’s game should prove to be a positive one for these Jaguars.
