The Detroit Lions were pretty quiet on the first night of the legal tampering period of NFL free agency. They signed cornerback D.J. Reed, who analysts called a home run signing for the Lions. They did make one other move.
They brought back everyone's favorite swing tackle and part-time receiver Dan Skipper for another season. He's been signed to a one-year deal.

Skipper has quickly gone from a guy who was a depth player to a guy who has become a pretty good swing tackle and someone who can slot in at guard when needed too. More than anything he's become a big part of the Lions culture and a guy that gets a huge pop from Detroit fans whenever he reports as eligible.
In 2024 we got to see him be more than just eligible. He caught a big nine-yard touchdown pass against the Buffalo Bills in December. Even with Ben Johnson gone to the Bears, don't expect the Lions to stop making Skip eligible out there. Don't be shocked if he gets a target or two in 2025 as well.
