The Lions made some roster moves ahead of Bears game

It's Saturday. You know what that means. It's time for the Lions to shuffle around the roster as they do every week. This week they kept it pretty simple. With both Jonah Jackson and Isaiah Buggs out for this game, the Lions made a couple elevations to help them with that. Here's what they did

Elevated Connor Galvin from the practice squad 

First up there's Connor Galvin The offensive lineman was someone I personally thought would have a real shot to make the Lions roster back in August. He really had a very good preseason and camp. While that didn't happen, he was one of the Lions first practice squad signings of the year. Whether or not he sees the field on Sunday is going to depend on what the team does to replace Jackson for the day. 

Galvin was active against the Packers earlier in the season, but never played a snap.

Elevated Quinton Bohanna from the practice squad

The  former sixth round pick started nine games for the Cowboys last season and struggled in most of them. That was then and this is now though. The Lions  signed Bohanna to the practice squad back in August and the reviews have been pretty good for him thus far. He got a shout out from Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell this past Friday. 

"Yeah, we’ve got (Lions DL) Brodric (Martin), we’ve got Bohanna. Those guys know they’ve got to earn their reps and we say early in the week, ‘Man, you’ve got to earn it and you’ll get an opportunity. And if you prove that you’re worthy of it, then we’ll put you in the game.’ So, yeah, all of those guys know that are on the vet squad, that they’re going to have an opportunity, and most of those guys are ones that have been here for the duration. There’s a little turnover that happens, but ultimately, we think it’s important to have guys that we trust, know our system, we understand what kind of people they are and their teammates, they’re around them, they see enough of them to where there’s a trust level once they go and it’s time for them to help us.”

We'll find out Sunday if it will be Bohanna or Brodric Martin that will get more of a look, but Bohanna getting elevated is a good sign for his progress with the team.
