Happy 39th birthday to three-time Pro Bowler, the Cincinnati Bengals all-time leader in completed passes and touchdown passes and now-16-year veteran quarterback, Andy Dalton!
Dalton was a second round NFL Draft pick by the Bengals out of TCU in 2011 and he was immediately given the keys to the franchise. He started all 16 games of his rookie season in 2011, going 9-7 with 3,398 yards and 20 touchdowns to 13 interceptions and a playoff berth.
While Dalton regularly had the Bengals competitive in the regular season, his first postseason contest would be an unfortunate indicator for all his playoff performances to come. Dalton threw three interceptions in a 31-10 loss to Houston in his postseason debut, and he’d go winless in such games despite making the tournament in four straight seasons.
Dalton stayed in Cincinnati until 2019, finishing his Bengals career with the second-most passing-yards along with the most completions and touchdowns. Since then he’s become the definition of a journeyman, now playing for his sixth team in seven seasons after getting released by the Eagles and signing with the Atlanta Falcons midseason.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the quarterbacks to complete the most passes for each NFL franchise can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
