The 'Most TDs without making the playoffs' quiz

Despite having one of the most star-studded teams in the NFL over the past couple of seasons, injuries and horrific defense have kept the Cincinnati Bengals out of the playoffs since reaching the AFC Championship in 2022.

But as the 2026 campaign approaches, quarterback Joe Burrow made a comment that should frighten the NFL if it’s true.

“You go back and watch what I said before the 2019 season at LSU, I feel very similarly about this team. I feel there’s so much greatness we’ll be able to achieve this year,” he said.

That LSU team (which also featured Ja’Marr Chase), went 15-0 en route to the College Football Playoff championship with Burrow racking up 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns to win the Heisman Trophy.

If the ‘26 Bengals are going to be anything like the ‘19 Tigers, they’ll need Burrow to stay on the field. Burrow missed nine games in 2025, the third time he’s missed at least seven games in six NFL seasons.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. The last time Burrow played a full season was in 2024, when he led the NFL in both passing yards (4,918) and touchdowns (43) but Cincy still missed the postseason with a 9-8 record. With that being said, can you name the quarterbacks to throw the most touchdowns in a season without making the postseason?

Good luck!
