New York Jets plan to have designated package for Chris Streveler, reportedly envision Taysom Hill role:

After rushing for 54 yards (six per attempt) last week, the Jets would be wise to keep Streveler integrated within the offense.

Ian Rapoport, NFL Network Insider, shared on the Pat McAfee Show that the Jets foresee a “Taysom Hill role” going forward with Streveler.

In his press conference yesterday afternoon, Jets head coach Robert Saleh was asked about Streveler and his potential usage moving forward. Ironically, he mentioned the comparison to Hill.

“We’ll see. He did a really nice job with it. Thought it was a cool little wrinkle. I know people are familiar with Taysom Hill and all the things he did and still does for New Orleans. Again, there’s a lot of guys coming back healthy this week, hopefully. So, there’s a lot of roster gymnastics that would have to take place. So it’s something that we’re talking about but it’s not a guarantee.”

The encouraging part to hear is that they are at least considering a package for Streveler. He can offer this offense multiplicity with his ability as a runner, making game planning and adjusting in-game for defenses a challenge.

As stated above, Streveler does not have NFL-caliber arm strength, but it is his ability to throw, particularly on the move, that can keep opponents honest, possibly lifting a Jets offense that needs a spark.

Streveler has some wheels on the ground (4.51 40-yard dash) with some size (216 pounds) and strength to boot. He can certainly provide this offense with a jolt, a nice change of pace, that could potentially lead to some big plays. With the Jets competing for a playoff spot, any contributions from Streveler over the next two weeks are a plus. Hopefully, the Jets keep him involved with a specific role that can help the offense get more points on the board.
