FRISCO - As we're quite sure Micah Parsons would agree ...
There's only one Micah Parsons.
But ...
The arch-rival Philadelphia Eagles might like to have a word.
When the Dallas Cowboys drafted Parsons with their first-round selection in 2021, the organization saw an off-ball linebacker - an incredible one - but not too much more than that.
Quickly, though, then-coordinator Dan Quinn recognized that he had the ability to rush the passer.
Now, Parsons has almost completely gone away from his off-ball prowess and lives as one of the league's most-feared quarterback-hunters.
Enter the Eagles.
Philly is hoping to get out of their own first-round steal in linebacker Jihaad Campbell.
"The Next Micah''?
The Alabama product has made a name for himself over his college career as a great off-ball player.
Many draft experts had him as a top-10 player. Injuries were the only thing that bumped him down to the Eagles.
But the comparisons to Parsons are real ... when he's healthy. At least that is what our pal The Athletic's Dane Brugler stated this week in his latest draft comparison breakdowns.
"With some teams concerned about his durability, Campbell fell to the bottom of Round 1 — and into Eagles general manager Howie Roseman’s sights," Brugler said. "We don’t have a crystal-clear picture of how Philadelphia plans to use him, but it sounds like he might become the Eagles’ version of Micah Parsons, which is an ideal fit for his talent as a downhill force player.
"Sign me all the way up."
There can't really be "2 Micah's,'' right?
Right.
But the Eagles are hoping to get the same kind of production here that Parsons has given the Cowboys. ... a concept that if it comes to fruition will further heat up this NFC East rivalry.
