There have been rumblings about the NFL Scouting Combine moving to another city, but that won't happen anytime soon.
For starters, the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium, the home of the Indianapolis Colts. That was already settled well before the 2024 regular season kicked off in September. On Thursday morning, the league made a decision on the 2026 Scouting Combine.
Despite accepting bids from other cities, the NFL has decided to keep this week-long showcase at Lucas Oil Stadium through at least 2026.
This is a huge win for those living in Indianapolis since the NFL Scouting Combine has become such a spectacle. Chris Gahl, the executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Visit Indy, thanked the NFL for keeping the scouting event in Indianapolis.
“We appreciate the NFL’s continued commitment and interest in Indy and the Colts ongoing partnership,” Gahl said, via ProFootballTalk. "We know Indy is always on audition, striving to keep the event in our city. We are constantly looking to improve and grow the Combine to enhance the fan-facing experience for visitors and fans.”
The chief operating officer of the Colts, meanwhile, said Lucas Oil Stadium is "uniquely designed and built to host an event as complex as the NFL Combine."
Indianapolis has been hosting the scouting combine since 1987. It wouldn't surprise us if that streak continues through the 2020s.
More than 27,000 fans attended last year's scouting combine, per Visit Indy. We'll see if that number gets dethroned in 2025.
The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine will run from February 27 through March 2.
