The 'NFL passing leaders since 1970' quiz

The relationship between Cleveland Browns fans and quarterback Deshaun Watson is about as fractured as it could possibly be at the moment. But despite the animosity between the two, first-year head coach Todd Monken announced he’s going to roll with Watson as his starting quarterback in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars according to ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi. 

Watson heard boos in his return to action from an achilles injury last season in Cleveland’s preseason game against the Bills, something he decided to address in his press conference. 

“I think the whole world knows it has nothing to do about the performance,” Watson said after going 5-for-12 with 36 yards, two three-and-outs and an interception in four drives against Buffalo.

“It’s a little more personal than that. So, I think it’s a disrespectful thing.”

To say Watson hasn’t lived up to the contract he signed with Cleveland in 2022 is an understatement. He hasn’t played in more than seven games in any of those seasons, going 9-10 with 3,365 yards and 19 touchdowns to 12 interceptions in 19 starts. 

But with a QB room of Watson, Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel and Taylen Green, Monken decided to roll with the veteran to start his tenure in Cleveland. 

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Despite struggling mightily over the past half-decade, Watson finished the 2020 NFL seasons as the league’s leading passer with 4,832 yards.
