Alec Pierce has developed a reputation as one of the best deep-ball threats in the NFL after the past couple of seasons, and now he has a couple of deep pockets. The four-year veteran turned his first 1,000-receiving-yard season and second-consecutive campaign leading the NFL in yards-per-receptions (21.3) into a four-year, $114 million contract with the Indianapolis Colts.
With Pierce’s services retained, the Colts will turn their attention to locking in quarterback Daniel Jones with a multi-year contract as well after placing the transition tag on him earlier this month.
“I believe in Daniel,” Pierce told the “Pat McAfee Show.”
“I know they’re going to get his deal done and lock him down, and I think we can be special.”
Pierce and the Colts got off to a 7-1 start in 2025 and were 8-4 before Jones tore his achilles in Week 14 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the players to lead the NFL in yards-per-reception for each season since 2000 can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
