Happy 61st birthday to one-time Pro Bowler and 14-year NFL veteran quarterback, Steve Beuerlein!
Beuerlein was selected in the fourth round of the 1987 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame by the then-Los Angeles Raiders, but he started just 15 games over two seasons for the Raiders before a contract dispute resulted in him missing the 1990 season and joining the Dallas Cowboys in 1991. He’d win a Super Bowl ring as a backup to Troy Aikman in Dallas.
Beuerlein wouldn’t start a full season for a team until his 199 season with the Carolina Panthers, when he led the entire NFL with 4,336 yards and 36 touchdowns to 15 interceptions.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the quarterbacks to lead the NFL in passing yards since the AFL/NFL merger in 1970 can you name in seven minutes?
Good luck!
