The 'No. 3 overall NFL draft picks since 2000' quiz

The wait for NFL games is (almost) over. 

The NFL’s preseason schedule gets underway on July 31 as the Los Angeles Chargers take on the Detroit Lions in the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. For the Chargers, it will be the start of another new beginning for former third-overall NFL draft pick Trey Lance.After one start in two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, Lance signed with the Chargers as a free agent this offseason and was tabbed by head coach Jim Harbaugh as the starter for the Hall of Fame Game.

Partially due to injuries and partially due to the quarterbacks around him, Lance has started just five regular season games in the NFL and hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass since 2021.  

“I want to get Trey Lance game experience,”  Harbaugh said when asked about the decision.
