The Packers can't bail on Jordan Love yet, but tough conversations are on the horizon 

For the first few games of the season, it seemed like the Packers had a legitimate reason to be excited about Jordan Love.

He looked great against the Chicago Bears, but it turns out Chicago is terrible. He looked decent in a loss to the Atlanta Falcons and then captured the imagination of Packers fans everywhere when he brought the team all the way back from a 17-0 fourth-quarter deficit against the New Orleans Saints. 

His first comeback win as the Packers starting quarterback was magical — almost reminiscent of Brett Favre.

Unfortunately, over the past few weeks, Love has seemingly taken on the worst qualities Favre possessed during his Hall of Fame career. 

With three interceptions thrown in a "Monday Night Football" loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, Love has now thrown six on the season. Perhaps more worrisome for Green Bay is that five of those interceptions have come in the past two games.

Simply put, Love has looked worse and worse the more he's played, and his accuracy and decision-making seem to be a real issue that can't be ignored.

He obviously has talent and his teammates Love him (pun intended), but there's too much "there" there when it comes to his lack of accuracy. 

His completion percentage has been below 60% in four of his five games this season, and his passer rating against the Raiders was an abysmal 32.2

Love still has time to turn things around, of course, and Green Bay is certainly going to ride or die with him this season. The front office has no choice after trading away Aaron Rodgers this past offseason. Frankly, they've had no choice but to figure out what they have in Love since they drafted him in the first round of the 2020 draft.

Still, if Green Bay continues to lose there's a chance the Packers could be in play for a top quarterback prospect like Drake Maye from North Carolina or even USC's Caleb Williams. 

If that's the case, there could be some really tough conversations on the horizon in Green Bay.

Love may, in fact, not be the answer.
