After leading the Washington Commanders to the NFC Championship game, finishing seventh in MVP voting and winning Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2024, quarterback Jayden Daniels was limited by injuries to just seven games in his second professional campaign.
Heading into his third season and looking to get himself back into the MVP conversation, Daniels was asked if he had any regrets about his most significant injury, which came in garbage time of a loss to the Seahawks in Week 9.
“I don’t regret it because everything happened for a reason,” he told Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.
“And, obviously, it helped me get to this point where I’m at now. So maybe if I hadn’t gone through that, my mindset wouldn’t have switched.”
Before his injury-abbreviated 2025 season, Daniels was a Heisman Trophy winner and the second-overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He immediately took the reins as QB1 in Washington, throwing for 3,568 yards with 25 touchdowns to nine interceptions in addition to 891 yards and six more scores on the ground.
But with some worrying reports about the team around Daniels this season and starting tackle Laremy Tunsil out long-term, Commanders fans might be worried a repeat of 2025 is more likely than one of 2024.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Daniels’ 25 touchdown passes are the most by a rookie signal caller in Washington history. With that being said, can you name the quarterbacks with the rookie-record for passing touchdowns for each NFL franchise?
Good luck!
