Happy 47th birthday to 2003 AP Offensive Player of the Year, Pro Bowler, First-Team All Pro honoree and Super Bowl XXXV champion, Jamal Lewis!
The Baltimore Ravens selected Lewis with the fifth-overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft out of Tennessee and immediately took the role of bell-cow running back for Baltimore. As a rookie he rushed 309 times for 1,364 yards and six touchdowns in the regular season before rumbling for 102 yards and another TD against the New York Giants in the Super Bowl in just the fifth year of the franchise’s existence.
The best year of his career came in 2003, when he led the NFL with 2,066 rushing yards and a career-best 14 touchdowns.
Lewis would never reach those heights again, but he still reached the 1,000-yard milestone four times in the next five seasons, two of which came as a Cleveland Brown in 2007 and 2008. But in 2009 he was limited to just nine games in what would be the final season of his career without a touchdown.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Lewis’ 7,801 rushing yards are still a Baltimore Ravens record, with second-place Lamar Jackson 1,279 yards behind him. With that being said, can you name the players with the most rushing yards for each NFL franchise?
Good luck!
