Last week was a very good one for NFL running backs.
The first domino was Falcons RB Bijan Robinson, who signed a three-year, $75 million contract extension in Atlanta. Then the Colts gave Jonathan Taylor another two lucrative seasons in Indianapolis.
The climax came on Aug. 6, when the Detroit Lions and Jahmyr Gibbs agreed to a three-year, $67.5M contract that could be worth up to $75.75M and includes $51.5M guaranteed.
Despite missing the postseason, Gibbs was one of the most electric players in the NFL in 2025, rushing for 1,223 yards and 13 touchdowns to go with 616 receiving yards and five more TDs. The Lions also allowed David Montgomery to walk this offseason, breaking up their iconic “Sonic and Knuckles,” duo and turning to Gibbs as their bellcow back.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. While he technically only started four games for the Lions in 2024, Gibbs finished tied for the most rushing touchdowns in the NFL that year. With that being said, can you name the NFL players to lead the league in rushing touchdowns for each season since 1990?
Good luck!
