Happy 54th birthday to three-time Pro Bowler, two-time Offensive Player of the Year, two-time Super Bowl Champion, 1998 Most Valuable Player and Super Bowl XXXII MVP, Terrell Davis!
Davis was a sixth-round pick in the 1995 Draft after playing his college ball at Long Beach State and Georgia. He immediately broke out with a 1,117-rushing-yard season as a rookie, adding another 367 yards as a receiver and scoring eight total touchdowns.
A key member of the John Elway-led Broncos squad, he led the NFL in rushing touchdowns in both 1997 (15) and 1998 (21), reaching the exclusive 2,000-rushing-yard milestone in 1998.
Unfortunately for Davis and the Broncos, injuries kept TD from playing another full season after that Super Bowl-winning campaign, suiting up just 17 more times through 2001 before retiring. Despite his career getting cut short, Davis’s body of work earned him a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2017.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Davis’ 21 rushing touchdowns in 1998 remain a Broncos single-season record. With that being said, can you name the players to rush for the most touchdowns in one season for each NFL franchise?
Good luck!
