The Pittsburgh Steelers are making a big seating change to Acrisure Stadium for the upcoming 2026 season.
The home of the Pittsburgh Steelers is known for having yellow seats throughout its venue. It's Steelers colors, of course, but at times, it can be a bit much. When the stadium empties out during a game, an endless sea of yellow isn't the best visual.
So, the Steelers are making a change.
Pittsburgh has announced that it will be installing some black seats throughout the stadium in the upper deck, ahead of the 2026 season.
According to Chris Adamski of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review , Steelers owner Art Rooney II said that black seats will be installed throughout the upper deck.
“We were making changes to the seating,” Rooney said. “The sea of gold sometimes gets overwhelming, so we did a little black and gold in there this time around.”
The black seats in the upper deck will be a random pattern.
"The practical impact will be to deaden the retina-searing impact of empty seats in the facility, which happens when the place clears out early during a Steelers game or throughout a Pitt home game," Pro Football Talk wrote.
It's a long overdue move in Pittsburgh.
While the yellow seats are a classic look, they aren't the kindest on the eyes, and it's been time for a change.
