What Is The State Of The Tennessee Titans?

The Tennessee Titans, after shockingly firing former head coach, Mike Vrabel, in order to reportedly ‘get ahead of the market‘, seem to have done just that.

After going through multiple interviews with both head coaches and offensive coordinators, it seems like the Titans have finally found their guy, per Tom Pelissero.

Bill Callahan To Be Announced As Next Head Coach Of The Titans

Bill Callahan, currently the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals, helped the Bengals go to the AFC Championship game in back-to-back years before a season ending injury to Joe Burrow essentially ended their championship hopes in 2023.

Callahan, along with head coach Zac Taylor, is credited partially with the impressive growth of quarterback Burrow, who is currently the highest paid player in the National Football League. In fact, Callahan has quite the resume of quarterbacks he’s coached, as listed below by Adam Schefter.

Why Was Bill Callahan The Man For The Titans

One reason, and one reason only: quarterback play. Whoever the Titans’ quarterback for the future is; Will Levis, a free agent or a new name they find in this or a subsequent draft – they want an offensive coach to maximize every drop of talent from him: something they evidently felt defensive-minded coach, Mike Vrabel, was not able to do.

Regardless, this was a top name on the coaching carousel, and the first external head-coaching hire of the 2023 cycle.
