Here are the three most exciting matchups for the Dallas Cowboys since the NFL has officially released their schedules for all 32 teams. During the offseason, owner Jerry Jones said the team is going “all in” in 2024 so it’s an exciting time for fans as training camp is looming. The Cowboys are rolling into this upcoming season after losing another heartbreaker in the division round against the Green Packers. However, there’s a lot to look forward to for America’s team which has one of the league’s top-scoring offenses and playmaking defenses led by Micah Parsons.

It doesn’t seem to be the case exactly for anyone who’s been paying attention to the offseason. The team has not been the most quiet across the board of making additions and moves to improve it’s roster. However, it’s crunch time season for many players on the team like Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb who are looking for contract extensions. The Cowboys are looking to change things around to see if they’re good enough to win a ring with Prescott.

They were able to bring back running back Ezekiel Elliott after one year away from the team. This should fuel some excitement see the duo again of Prescott and Elliott. The implication is that he isn’t the player he was when playing in his rookie in 2016. One has to wonder if the Cowboys are serious this time around or they’re going to continue to be a laughing stock for talking heads.

Head Coach Mike McCarthy is also on the hotseat this year. The fact that most experienced talent are on their final year should excite fans since it could motivate them to perform well. However, grab your popcorn, here are three most exciting matchups on the Cowboys schedule.

1. Week Three: Dallas Cowboys vs. Baltimore Ravens

First Time Ever

The first face-off between Prescott and Lamar Jackson is finally here. This game should excite many folks as the defending MVP will take on the runner-up. However, the statistics don’t fair with the Cowboys since the Ravens are 5-1 against them. Dallas were able to win the last meeting in 2016, 27-17.

One should anticipate this matchup to go back and forth on offense considering it will also be Trevon Diggs going up against Zay Flowers. Both defenses must be able to hold up their own to make this an interesting contest to watch. However, the run defense will be put to the test with Derrick Henry’s arrival. One should watch how Parsons and Demarcus Lawrence could possibly get to Jackson in the pocket.

This draws a competition to see if they’re really serious like they say they are. It won’t be easy for the Cowboys offense at all since most of the offensive line will have to hold up their own. The Ravens have one of the best defenses this upcoming season with Roquan Smith and Justin Madubuike waiting.

2. Week Eleven: Dallas Cowboys vs. Houston Texans

The Battle of Texas

Speaking of fireworks, this one should fun to watch considering it will be Monday Night game. The likes of C.J Stroud and a new powerhouse offense is coming to AT&T Stadium to go up against Prescott. The Cowboys are 4-2 against them but the Texans aren’t the same team they used to be. Coach of the Year DeMeco Ryans has been surround Stroud with pieces around him to be able to go far this season.

However, it’s up to the Cowboys to stop the noise to show who’s the real texas team. This is probably the most demanding game for the Cowboys to win. Many will wait to see if that the newly built Cowboys offensive line can hold up Matt Burke’s defense. One can anticipate this matchup go down to the last wire.

3. Week Eight: Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers

Revenge Game

It’s clear that the Cowboys will take this matchup personally. Jerry Jones was pushing for the NFL to schedule this matchup for week one to prove to the rest of America of what the Cowboys are made of. However, they’re facing them in prime-time on NBC so it should be a lot of fun to watch Lamb and Brandin Cooks vs. Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel. The Cowboys haven’t had any luck facing the 49ers, especially in the playoffs.

This is the Cowboys chance to show the world that they’re the true NFC Heavyweights.
