As the Kirk Cousins drama keeps unfolding and more teams have potentially dropped out of the race, one team has emerged as a dark horse and potential trade partner. The Tennessee Titans finished with the worst record in the NFL last season and have been looking to fix their quarterback issues in the draft or free agency.
They are currently linked to the likes of Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders, but they could also lean towards the experience route and a player like Cousins can be that experience. The Titans currently have Will Levis, Tim Boyle and Brandon Allen on their roster, so getting Cousins before or after the draft might be the move.
Looking back at a season where both of these teams found themselves in tough situations and both out of the playoffs, there are answers to both team's problems and it could very well be getting together and pulling the trigger on this trade. Cousins can serve as a starter in Tennessee whether they draft a quarterback first or not.
NFL Network’s Ian Rappoport supports the idea of the Titans being a destination as they have been trying to get back to playoff glory that they got used to with Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill. The Atlanta Falcons are also trying to figure out money situation and get off of Cousins contract to pay more players and be able to sign more free agents.
With the draft around the corner, there can be many twists and turns and potential of Cousins joining the AFC South is in the horizon, and more will come out by draft day.
