The Tennessee Titans added a veteran to their quarterback room.

On Wednesday, the Titans signed Tim Boyle to an undisclosed contract. The 30-year-old has played for six teams in the last six seasons.

Boyle began his career on the Green Bay Packers practice squad as an undrafted free agent. He completed three passes as Aaron Rodgers' backup from 2019 to 2020.

An injury to Jared Goff gave Boyle his first extended NFL opportunity for the Detroit Lions in 2021. They lost all three of his starts, during which Boyle threw three touchdowns with six interceptions and a 63.5 quarterback rating.

After playing one game off the bench for the Chicago Bears in 2022, Boyle reunited with Rodgers on the New York Jets. He lost two starts late in the season.

Boyle started the 2024 campaign with the Miami Dolphins and saw early playing time when Tua Tagovailoa and Skylar Thompson got injured. Released in October, he joined the New York Giants and completed 12 of 24 passes for 123 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in a Week 15 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Tennessee could use a sturdy veteran backup after Mason Rudolph returned to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rudolph posted an 80.1 quarterback rating in eight games for the Titans last year.

Boyle joins Will Levis and fellow offseason signee Brandon Allen, who hasn't started an NFL game since 2021. The Titans likely aren't done addressing the position.

It seems safe to say that Boyle's signing won't affect Tennessee's plans for the No. 1 pick. The Titans could still draft Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders on Thursday, April 24.

ESPN's Adam Schefter said the Titans, who have entertained trade offers for the top pick, "have become increasingly impressed with Ward." Team representatives watched the Heisman Trophy finalist throw at Miami's Pro Day on Monday.

However, Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi insisted that the team is still deliberating.

"I would say everything is still on the table," Borgonzi said. "From the beginning I said I wanted to go through the whole process, and I felt like our priority was to build the offensive line first, and we added Dan Moore and Kevin Zeitler. Now we're going through the process here with the college quarterbacks."
