The Buffalo Bills have no shortage of power hitters on their schedule in 2024.
They will face off against all four teams that played in both conference championship games this past January, and a collection of familiar AFC foes, as well.
With that in mind, there will be a few stretches during this season that the Bills will be tested, and the following will be the toughest of them all.
The Bills begin a stretch of three straight road games against the Ravens, who appeared in the AFC Championship and lost to the Kansas City Chiefs four months ago. Baltimore is likely to be a tough out, as they usually are, but I trust Josh Allen more than Lamar Jackson, and I trust the Bills' roster overall more than the Ravens. The Bills win, and Allen extends his record against Jackson to 3-1.
The Stefon Diggs revenge game will take place away from Orchard Park, and the Bills will have one of their toughest matchups of the season at the beginning of October. Houston has a stud quarterback of their own in C.J. Stroud, as well as a great trio of receivers made up of Diggs, Nico Collins, and Tank Dell. This could have all the makings of an early-season shootout between two of the best quarterbacks in the game.
The Jets are going to be one of the more formidable teams in the AFC this season. Their defense has been fantastic for two seasons, but suffered because of arguably the worst quarterback play in the NFL. Now, with a (hopefully) healthy Aaron Rodgers and an improved offensive line, the Jets should be a team that has aspirations of a deep playoff run. I don't see the Bills winning both of these matchups, and an early-season trip to MetLife could leave them going home with a loss.
