For the last few years, the NFL has made a concerted effort to expand its Christmas footprint.

After playing one game on Christmas in 2020 and a doubleheader in 2021, the league scheduled tripleheaders in 2022 and 2023. This year, it's back to a twin bill, with four AFC playoff teams facing off. For the first time ever, both games will be streamed exclusively on Netflix.

The doubleheader gets underway at 1 p.m. ET with the Kansas City Chiefs facing the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kansas City (14-1) needs a win to clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC, while the 10-5 Steelers are trying to hold off the Baltimore Ravens to win the AFC North.

“It was definitely exciting until I realized it was on Wednesday," Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said about playing on Christmas. “I think it is really cool playing the first Netflix game on Christmas Day in front of the whole nation. It’s an honor, so we’ll go out there trying to do what we can not to have the same experience we had last Christmas. But as I said, it’s a great football team, and I’ll be a great challenge.”

Speaking of the Baltimore Ravens, they're in Houston to take on the Texans in the second game of the day, which will kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Baltimore (10-5) is coming off a big win over the Steelers last Saturday, while the 9-6 Texans have already wrapped up the AFC South and a first-round playoff game at home.

Adding some buzz to that second matchup is the fact Beyonce is performing the halftime show in Houston, her hometown. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson said Monday he plans on skipping the locker room at intermission to watch the R&B star put on a show.

“I’m going to go out there and watch, man," Jackson said. "It’s my first time watching Beyonce perform and it’s at our game? That’s dope. I’m going to go out there and watch. Sorry, (head coach John) Harbaugh. Sorry, fellas.”

We'll see if he keeps his promise. Either way, Beyonce will draw in a large contingent of viewers on her own.

It should be a fun Christmas for the NFL
