Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has stayed pretty quiet this offseason, but there are plenty of rumors swirling in regards to his injury situation.

Although he was inconsistent during the 2025 regular season, Nix led the Broncos to victory over the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the playoffs. He had 279 passing yards, 29 rushing yards and three touchdowns in a 33-30 overtime win. Unfortunately, Nix fractured his right ankle on the final drive of the game. That injury kept him off the field for the AFC Championship Game.

Nix underwent surgery that reportedly required a four-to-six week recovery process. Though he's proven that he can lead the Broncos in big moments, there are rumblings about him being replaced.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported Wednesday that Aaron Rodgers is on Denver's radar. The Broncos might be interested in signing the four-time MVP if Nix isn't ready for Week 1.

"There’s talk of the Broncos possibly bringing Rodgers in for a visit," Florio said. "The motivation comes from the possibility that current starter Bo Nix won’t be fully and completely back to 100 percent when Week 1 rolls around."

Shortly after Florio dropped this bombshell report, NFL insider Jordan Schultz said Nix will be a "full go" for the Broncos' offseason training program.

"Not only is Broncos QB Bo Nix a full go for the team’s offseason program with zero limitations, fully recovered from ankle surgery—he’s actually further along than he typically is in his offseason conditioning program, per sources," Schultz wrote. "Some very good news for the Broncos with their franchise QB."

What's the verdict?

While at the NFL's annual league meeting this week, Broncos owner Greg Penner told reporters that Nix is ahead of schedule.

"He's attacked the recovery like he attacks preparing for games," Penner said, via The Athletic. "He’s done a terrific job. He’s ahead of schedule. No concerns at all for OTAs and [he will] go forward from there. Really, really pleased with his progress and the support from [vice president of player health] Beau Lowery and everyone."

If the Broncos are comfortable with Nix's recovery process, their fans shouldn't be too worried about the Aaron Rodgers rumors.
