The San Francisco 49ers managed to stay undefeated in Week 3 action against the Arizona Cardinals, winning the game by a final score of 16-15.
It wasn’t a pretty game, but a win is a win in the NFL. At the end of the day, the 49ers hold a 3-0 record.
Unfortunately, the win didn’t come without a cost. San Francisco has been riddled with injuries throughout the first few weeks of the season. Brock Purdy and George Kittle were both out for the game against the Cardinals.
Now, the 49ers are dealing with a knee injury suffered by superstar pass rusher Nick Bosa.
Following the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke out about Bosa’s injury. His words did not do much to calm down the fans who are worried about the star pass rusher’s status.
“There is concern because of how he feels,” Shanahan said. “Hopefully we’ll have some good news tomorrow.”
At this point, initial tests suggest that Bosa did not tear his ACL. That is great news, but the severity of the injury is not known at this point in time. San Francisco will have to wait for further testing to find out more.
Bosa has been the heart and soul of the 49ers’ defense for years. Losing him for any amount of time would be a massive blow for a team that is already trying to tread water until players can return to the field.
Hopefully, the team gets the good news it is hoping for when more tests are done. Only time will tell, but in the meantime San Francisco fans are going to continue losing sleep over the injury bug that seems to continue biting the team week in and week out.
Expect to hear more news about Bosa in the very near future.
