We could be getting an answer on Aaron Rodgers' next destination sometime today.

Rodgers will officially become a free agent when the New York Jets release him at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday, the start of the new league year. However, by that time, the four-time MVP could very well have already announced where he'll be playing next, as Rodgers has been able to negotiate with teams during the legal tampering period.

All reports indicate Rodgers is down to two choices, the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants, with the Minnesota Vikings lurking if they want to get involved.

Several insiders, including NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, believe Rodgers could reveal his decision "potentially today."

"The Aaron Rodgers situation does not appear to be a money thing from the Giants perspective. They are just waiting for his decision. A resolution is expected today," added ESPN's Jordan Raanan.

One telltale sign that an announcement could be forthcoming is if Rodgers' buddy Pat McAfee announces he will be on his show later today. Rodgers confirmed he wanted to play for the Jets two years ago on McAfee's airwaves.

On paper, Pittsburgh seems like the best destination, considering they made the playoffs last year and have the roster in place to compete in 2025. The Steelers also just acquired another standout wide receiver, D.K. Metcalf, in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks.

As for the Giants, they are desperate for a quarterback, but were unable to land Matthew Stafford in a trade.

New York is coming off a 3-14 season and still rebuilding, but head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen are on the hot seat, meaning they need to land a proven signal caller. If they can't lure Rodgers, reports have said they will pivot to Russell Wilson, who ironically started 11 games for the Steelers in 2024.

Will today be the day we learn of Rodgers' free agent fate? Stay tuned.
