There's one obvious fit for Cameron Jordan

For the first time in his career, New Orleans Saints legend Cameron Jordan might play for a different franchise.

The Saints' all-time leader in sacks acknowledged that the business side of the game might lead him away from the Big Easy, and there should be a strong interest in his services after the NFL Draft.

However, of all the teams keeping tabs on the 36-year-old, one seems to be a seamless fit. He spent one decade playing for Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, and Ben Johnson's team happens to need help in the pass-rushing department.

The Bears need to sign Cameron Jordan

Allen was the Saints defensive coordinator from 2015-21 before taking over as head coach from 2022-24. During his time with the team, Jordan established himself as one of the most feared and dominant headhunters in the game.

While he may not be a long-term solution for a relatively young team like the Bears, Jordan can provide strong mentorship to whoever they take to bolster the defensive line in the NFL Draft.

Moreover, he proved last season that he didn't need to play a ton of snaps to make a huge impact. He played just 54 percent of the defensive snaps, yet he still finished the season with 10.5 sacks (his most since 2021), 47 tackles (32 solo), 15 tackles for loss and 15 QB hits.

The Bears need someone to start opposite Montez Sweat and put some pressure on the quarterback. And even though they only have $243,000 in available cap space, general manager Ryan Poles could certainly find a way to accommodate Jordan's contract in the books.

His market has been rather slow thus far, but most teams are saving money and roster spots for their rookie class, so the interest should spike again late in April and in early May.
