Aaron Rodgers is reportedly still mulling retirement.
Once again, the future Hall of Famer is weighing his options, and while a return to the Pittsburgh Steelers is on the table, so is walking away. Rodgers spent only one year under head coach Mike Tomlin, and it was mostly a positive experience.
However, as Rodgers revealed in his latest appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show," there's one thing he really doesn't like: the playing surface.
"Just seeing the response from the fans, and how much they loved the Black and Gold. And then, Acrisure, other than the field surface itself, is a great place to play," Rodgers said. "I mean, I’m not saying anything out of my [expletive]."
The former Super Bowl champion is right; he's not alone in that complaint. In fact, NFL players ranked Acrisure Stadium's playing surface as the worst in the league, prompting the Steelers to vow to change it.
Rodgers has never been one to shy away from controversy, and he's going to tell it as it is regardless of whether people like it or not. So, if he can chip in and put even more pressure on the team to change the field, he's not going to hesitate.
The Steelers don't have many options if Rodgers doesn't come back. They hired former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy in an obvious nod to keep him in town for a little longer. Now, they also need to fix that field.
